Environmental Policy

Five Elements is committed to conducting its business and delivering services that cause no environmental damage as a minimum, while striving to contribute positively to environment whenever opportunities to do so present themselves. We are committed to protecting the environment in which we live and work, and accordingly we shall:

  • Ensure that our activities minimise or avoid endangering or harming the environment;
  • Develop and maintain management systems to identify, control and monitor environmental risks and impacts, and which ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards;
  • Enable our staff, associates, partners and contractors, through the provision of information, instruction, training and supervision to implement environmentally responsible work practices and to be aware of their responsibility towards stewardship of the environment;
  • Communicate with Government, NGOs and the public on environmental issues;
  • Develop emergency and incident response plans and procedures where relevant to our activities and communicate them to our staff and contractors;
  • Ensure that waste management practices are carried out based on the principles of reduce, recycle, reuse and dispose;
  • Treat and dispose of wastes generated by our work in an environmentally responsible manner
  • Conduct regular environmental audits of our offices and worksites;
  • Implement procedures for the management of emissions, discharges and wastes that have the potential to effect the atmospheric, terrestrial and aquatic environments and the ecology harboured therein;
  • Work towards continuous improvement of our environmental performance.

Responsibility:

The Managing Director and senior management team are responsible for reviewing and developing the Environmental Policy.
